Finally, SMILING CAT FACE WITH HEART-SHAPED EYES. How I’ve needed you.
How do we know what we are missing when we don’t see some symbols, please?
Well, you should ensure you have the right fonts installed. For the bottom section, you need an emojii font.
Can you name one available on Debian, please? :-)
Probably not, I believe they’re all non-free at the moment. Google may be able to help?
DejaVu Sans, which is extremely free, contains at least SMILING CAT FACE WITH HEART-SHAPED EYES.
Thanks, that will be useful. All these new characters however, are really giving me the impression that they are putting into Unicode stuff that should not be there. The colored hearts, for instance: since when color is a character property?
Apparently since Unicode 6.0 when there were introduced. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emoji#Emoji_in_the_Unicode_standard has some more details, as well as a link to the Miscellaneous Symbols and Pictograph reference PDF: http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U1F300.pdf
